Book Description:

The Johns Hopkins Manual of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Third Edition is the perfect on-the-spot reference for clinicians who deal with obstetric and gynecologic problems. Written by residents in obstetrics and gynecology at The Johns Hopkins University, this popular manual covers virtually every clinical situation in obstetrics, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and gynecologic oncology. The easy-to-use outline format--modeled after The Washington Manual(R) of Medical Therapeutics--helps busy clinicians find information quickly. A list of frequently used drugs with dosages is included. This edition is updated throughout and includes the latest information on hormone therapies, birth control, and drugs.

Review:
A good book for your rotations
This is a compact book following the same formula for the other manuals from this collection (Ex Washington manual). It is not a treatise and it is not intended to be so, quite the contrary. It is a pocket book, easy to carry and to manipulate. It cover all the topics you might need for your day to day life in the hospital in a short , but not too short, and up to date format. I like the fact that you can read any chapter in less than 30 minutes. I recommend this book for medical students in need of a compact book to carry during the GOB internship or for revising topics before an exam.

Review:
an utter waste of time (and EXPENSIVE)
Do NOT buy the PDA version of this classic manual. The manufacturer shipped me a mismarked (wrong Operating System) shrink-wrap package with a warning that opening it would disallow a refund. The correct product had been mailed despite the mislabeling, but the convoluted registration process was time-consuming and produced an INVALID activation code. The purported SmartPatch fix also failed. Now, 6 days after paying for the product, it still doesn't work and the short East-coast technical support hours mean that MAYBE tomorrow, the 7th day after purchase, I MIGHT be able to use this product. Had this manufacturer been less paranoid about piracy, using a more standard serial # activation (like OTHER manufacturers), I'd be a happy customer recommending their product.
